Hi, I’m CM Writer.

I started sharing words online because sometimes a feeling makes more sense once you give it somewhere to live.

I’m Cassandra Mackenzie Wood, the poet behind CM Writer. My work explores the soft and difficult parts of being human: the versions of ourselves we outgrow, the courage it takes to change, the love that reshapes us, and the quiet hope of beginning again.

What began as a place to share a few honest lines has grown into seven books and a worldwide community of readers. I write for the person who needs to feel less alone, for the moment a stranger’s words somehow name the thing you could not.

Outside of poetry, I’m a PhD candidate in immunology studying cancer and the immune system. Science and poetry may look like opposite worlds, but to me they are both ways of paying close attention: asking what is happening beneath the surface, and why it matters.
